Research On Reusability Metrics Based On Component

Software reusability metrics, being an integral part of software reuse technology, plays an important role in application system development based on reuse. Application system development based on software reuse is different from the traditional software development,so we need a new metrics. More and more scientists are concerned about the software reuseability metrics. The concept and theory of component always lay emphasis on software reuse. A component may achieve its meaning of existing and economic value only after it is reused as possible. The quality of components eventually affects the quality of software. However there is a lack of an effective evaluation model for component quality. It is referred to the imporvment of components and efficiency of a component-base that how to evaluate the metrics degree of components with an accurate and practice-based method.This paper introduces the concept of component reuse, explicates the intent, content and principle of software reusability metrics and proposes a component quality model ,as well defines a set of quality attributes and associated metrics which focus on component reusability .This study has been applied on the components of print and analyzed the effect to the result of metrics with reusability and the influence to the component library. It is also a reference for the component library managers and users.
