The main studied topic of spatial spectrum estimation is the direction of arrival (DOA)of spatial signals. The super-resolution algorithm based on modern spectrum analytical theory intends to resolve DOA estimation precision and differentiation in the presence of dense signals. The operation speed of DSP chip is continually improving with development of microprocessor technology, the real time of DOA will come true. Especially the real-time realization of MUSIC algorithm will make an important practical significance for the development of this field.In aspect of algorithm research, based on the basic principle of array signal processing and super-resolution direction finding, a mathematical model of one and two-dimensional DOA estimation on an arbitrary plane array is established. The uniform linear array, the uniform circular array have been put into emulation for the coherent signals.According to simulation results, an experimental system of direction-finding is designed, with the signal processing part with DSP+FPGA as its core, simulation signal source input interface part, actual foreside signal input interface part, back-end interface part and terminal visual part. Simulation signal data input interface. The transmission of data is completed via serial port. Azimuth and pitch angles are transmitted to the back-end amalgamation system via serial port of DSP. In the paper, we make a detail expounds of the software and the hardware design and debugging process, and the formation of independent system. Debugging results of hardware and software validate feasibility of the scheme, and advice on how to improve is given.In this paper, ADSP21160 is used as the digital signal estimation system. MUSIC is chosen as the algorithm for the DOA estimation of non-correlated signals.Take advantage of the ADSP21160-concerned Evaluator wedebugged the software system and the whole debug method and approach to the spatial spectrum estimation system, and how to solve the problems that appeared.
