Recent years, the domestic and foreign emerged to the research of new passive detection system. Simultaneously, as a result of the rapid development of digital signal processing chip technology, some direction finding algorithms which originally have big computation quantity are now becoming possible to apply in the actual project. Therefore, the topic we study is the method and its hardware realization for Estimating two-dimensional DOA of coherent signals use non-cooperation sources.In aspect of algorithm research, based on the basic principle of array signal processing, super-resolution direction finding technology and MUSIC algorithm, a mathematical model of two-dimensional DOA estimation on an arbitrary plane array is established. In order to study the different performance of 2-D DOA estimation on different plane array, the double-row uniform linear array, the uniform circular array, the uniform square array and the uniform L array have been put into emulation. The precision and stability analyses of 2-D DOA estimation on these arrays are presented. Finally, the suitable array form is given. In this dissertation, a neo decorrelation method for estimating 2-D DOA of coherent signals is presented to solve essential technology question. The new method adopts multirow uniform linear array as a special form of plane antenna array. The estimation of azimuths and elevations of coherent signals can be obtained through conjugated reconstruction of array data matrix. At the same time this method can effectively improve the direction finding performance of original MUSIC algorithm under the complex signal condition and has a higher stability. The simulations have verified the validity and practicability of the new method.In aspect of hardware development, we proposed the design scheme that takes high speed DSP and FPGA as the core of the real-time direction finding processing system.
