Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs) is a new research area of computer science and technology. With the development in recent years, it gradually gets the focus from the industries and academia and has a great application future in the military and civil area. WSNs, which is made by the convergence of sensor, nested computation, networks and wireless communication technologies, is a novel technology about acquiring and processing information. It is believed to be the first of the top ten technologies that will change the world in the future. With the application of WSNs in the military and commercial field, the security of WSNs is becoming more and more important. The attacks are often against routing layer of WSNs and may cause the whole networks disabled in some wicked instances. However, little information about the security problem has been considered in the routing algorithm that have been proposed in WSNs, the unique properties of WSNs make traditional security mechanisms used in traditional networks and other wireless networks cannot be applied directly in WSNs, too. So it is emergent and significant to study secure routing issues of WSNs, it is a crucial research directions of security. The research and design on secure routing algorithms in WSNs are the main part of this dissertation. This dissertation modifies the GEAR(Geographic and Energy Aware Routing) algorithm which shows the best performance among the existing routing algorithms in WSNs. Contraposing the vulnerabilities of GEAR, a new secure routing algorithm named C-GEAR(Credit-GEAR) is designed. C-GEAR obtains the preferable safety feature by adding the key distribute scheme and reputation evaluation mechanism to GEAR. After that, a multidisciplinary analysis about C-GEAR and a comprehensive comparison between C-GEAR and TRANS(trust routing for location-aware sensor networks) is done, the results exhibit that C-GEAR possesses of better performance and C-GEAR is suitable for static location aware wireless sensor networks. Finally, the partial simulation of C-GEAR is done on the NS2. In the process of simulation, GEAR and C-GEAR are compared. The simulation result shows that the proposed algorithm C-CEAR has better performance than GEAR in terms of Packet Delivery Ratio and Drop Ratio while there exists attacking nodes.
