Mobile Ad hoc networks(MANET) is a distributed and self-organization system. Because of non-infrastructure, dynamic topology, openness of wireless channel and etc, so it is vulnerable to various attacks. Those attacks are very harmful to MANET. Therefore, the security issue is very essential to Ad hoc networks. Routing protocol is an important component of Mobile Ad hoc networks, and the problem of routing security is one field of security research in Ad hoc networks. We employ the reputation mechanism to manage the behavior of mobile nodes, and it can improve the node's cooperation and the safety of networks. However, node is easy suffered from slander attacks of other malicious nodes in reputation system, and it is harmful to reputation mechanism. In this paper, we based on the achievement of former scholars, and designed a novel reputation mechanism, which can resist the slander attack of malicious nodes. Every node only has the value of its direct neighbor, in order to improve the extension of the reputation system. Moreover, we use the trusted neighbors to scout the behavior of the node. In this reputation mechanism, the node's reputation value is composed by directed and indirect value. We allocate different weight value to indirect reputation value recommended by other neighbor nodes, recently interaction and having many interaction records will get much high accepted degree. Last, we introduced the reputation mechanism into the DSR routing protocol, and exploit a security routing protocol. The simulation results show that the reputation mechanism can not only resist the slander attack by single malicious node effectually, but also have good performance to the collaboration of malicious nodes, and improve the security of packets delivery.
