With the constant development of the technology of the formation of infrared image, the data amount of the single width infrared picture is bigger and bigger, the speed of the formation of image is faster and faster too, this requires that the formation system of infrared image should have the ability of gathering and conveying large quantities of data in real time. At present, the speed of most data transmission interface(CAN bus,RS485,etc.) is relatively low, it is difficult to satisfy the request with higher and higher transfer rate while using in application, which becomes a big bottleneck restraining the whole performance of the system from improving. IEEE1394 bus is a kind of external serial bus which supports high speed and follows IEEE standard, support the data transfer rate of 400Mb/s (1394b can realize 800Mbps , 1.6Gbps , 3.2Gbps ), and support Peer to Peer transmission , Plug and Play, Synchronous and Asynchronous transmission.In fact, IEEE1394 has become the standard bus in the field of video picture transmission.In view of the high-speed transmission characteristic of 1394 interface, the subject has offered one kind of scheme to put IEEE1394 interface into embedded system of formation of infrared image in order to realize the transmission of the picture datum in real time. On the basis of fully grasping IEEE1394 system structure and communication model and service, we have finished the system hardware circuit design and software design. The system has the following characteristics: (1)Following IEEE1394 specification, have commonability; (2)Supporting Plug and Play, the device starts data transmission automatically, needn't have manual intervention; (3)MCU realizes 1394 chip configurations, programming is flexible , easy to debug; (4)FPGA fully controls data transmission, realizes higher transfer rate.Through testing, the scheme this subject designed realizes IEEE1394 asynchronous transmission specification, can transmit the picture data between 1394 device and PC in real time.
