With the rapid development of wide band network, the on-line content services likeStreaming Media and so on are interesting more and more net worms. But StreamingMedia data deplete the band width of network badly, which causes the network routersmore and more congestion, and the quality of service more and more unsatisfying. In orderto adapt Streaming Media application to the real time request and alleviates the networkband width bottleneck effectively, the Streaming Media Cache technology is arising tomeet the need. Streaming Media Cache disposition based on proxy server mechanismrealization between the client and the server, can not only reduce the start delay time ofclient-side player, but also save the network band width.CDN (Content Delivery Network) also can lighten burthen of the server and netthrough "pushing" service and content to the net "edge". But the charge is too expansivefor the average media business to afford. P2P technology ebbs the server function, evenabolish the server. The measure is using one pc as server and client at the same time. Nodeacts the server as well as service provider and accepter for others nodes. So it could takefull advantage of client resource and lighten the server burden. But it is difficult toimplement it throughout the whole net.Based on the above reasons, the paper presents a new streaming media proxy cachetechnology. The technology combines with the advantages of CDN and P2P technology, distributes proxy servers to the relative concentration area of user access by using CDNtechnology, and adopts P2P technology within the concentrated area. It makes full use ofclient resources, widens the proxy server bottlenecks and improves the quality of streamingmedia services effectively. The paper makes detailed description and analysis from thesystem architecture, transmission strategy, node management, streaming media cachingproxy replacement strategy and client cache replacement strategy. And it also puts forwardthe corresponding algorithm according to the cache replacement of the steaming mediaproxy server and client.
