With the development of computer technology and applications, distributedtechnology in building enterprise applications is more popular. Distributed systemsinclude geographic distribution and the data processing distribution. Distributedapplication should be transparent for the users, Even in different areas, differentbusiness enterprises should also coordinate distribution of cooperation. In many cases, inner or between enterprises use different kinds of techniques, which makes dataexchange between the components and data sharing become more complicated.Meanwhile, Inter-operability problems raised in the integration of legacy system withthe current system. Generally, a special adapter was used to transform informationbetween the components. This kind of method made the different types of dataexchange and management of data sharing becoming complex and inefficient.Web Services is a newly risen technology with characters of platformindependence, language-independence, simplity, high efficiency, expansibility. It isespecially applicable to system integration and data transmission. Also, .NETRemoting based on DCOM is a combination of existing technologies which makeDistributed Programming more flexible.Based on researchment of distributed technology, this paper use Web Serviceand .NET Remoting technology to design the integrated product data managementsystems. It gave detailed analysis and elaboration of the Web Service and .NETRemoting, compared the difference of the two technologies and optimized the actualsystem by means of optimizing the data storage, data transmission and responsepattern. The system makes good use of characteristics of Web Service and .NETRemoting, it has encapsulation mechanism, loosely coupled, agreements onstandardized, highly integrated capacity. After encapsulated on. NET platform, it ischanged from code-management to code-unmanagement, and it can integrate withother distributed systems now.
