Multi-layer switch technology provide precondition for multi-service,service classification,counter of broadband IP network. Compared with layer 3 switch,multi-layer switch can analysis the transport layer,on the basis of giving support to L2/L3 switch, also can classify the network flow, relying on port /mac address/IP address/TOS/transport layer port. It gives a way to implement COS(Class of Service).Moreover, the functions of flow control/priority setting/switch re-orient can be implemented ,to sufficiency use the networ bandwidth and supply QoS service.We takes the Gal2net3 multi-layer switch chIP of Marvell Cooperation and device as research object,study the key technology of QoS implementation. Aim at the multi-layer switch characteristic,we bring forward a feasible design scheme which can realize QoS in multi-layer switch. The scheme can do corresponding policy according to the L2/L3/L4 packet head information and successfully do QoS classification and QoS control. This is the contribution of this dissertation.Firstly, we analysis the QoS diffserv module, and research the multi-flow classification model of the chIP, detail analysis the data flow classification principle and implementation detail, give the scheme of multi-flow model and market-bucket mechanism.Afterward, we bring forward a detailed QoS implementation .It include three parts: module,command line design,the analysis of support to QoS standard .It is the main contribution of this desertion.Finally ,we use the QoS implementation scheme of this desertion ,do some experimentation ,give the result and analysis them. The result proved that this scheme can successfully pick-up network muli-field to do classification and neatly do policy or control to the data flow such as count/forward or disacard/ratelimit/change DSCP and etc.The task of the dissertation is a part of"end to end QoS research in IP network under mix-mode",which is a key research project(number of 2004X072) of Hubei province education department and make significant contribution to the project.
