| This paper is aimed to contribute to the better understanding of the purpose and meaning of the design activity through the discussion of the Notebook shape design with the semeiology at information age. It is around the people who can be the designer of the product, and also can be the user of the product.From the view of semeiology, the product is a system whose purpose is to tansmit the culture value of the product, including the practical value and the symbol value of the product.The second part of the paper analyzes the communication of symbol system of Notebook shape, and the encode regulation through the Semantics, the Pragmatics and the Grammar. And then discusses the symbol factors of Notebook shape and their meanings which include symbol of form, color and material. At the end of paper,it analyzes the symbol factors of the ueser interface which is a important part of information product,and the encode regulation of them.One of the characteristic of this paper is trying to analyze the notebook shape design problem focusing the main part of industrial design: the shape design of product around the purpose"person"thourh the theory of semeiology, emphasize that the shape design is a purpose activity and is also a part of the system.The other one is studying the method of shape design through the semeiology. Design activity must grant the uesers' demands those changed continually and provide product shape the meaning which reflect those demands. |
