In modern infrared technology application, civil infrared inspection system and military infrared detection system have been widely used today, but for the poor quality of infrared instrument and working environment's influence, the result of infrared image is not as good as expected. So it's necessary to process the captured infrared image in order to make the images more suitable for human visual.The application, status and development of UFPA detector have been studied. Forms the view of systematic design, the systematic design about hardware and software have been narrated in details. The generation reason of non-uniformity for infrared focal plane array and the algorithm of two-point correction were introduced.Focus on Lift Wavelet transform theory, pays much importance to lifting scheme, including how to construct traditional wavelets, and reveals the reason of flexibility of using lifting scheme in constructing traditional wavelets. Analyzes its characteristic and takes its advantage to implement a new de-noising mechanism. Also will traditional wavelets after lifting with correspond of original wavelets at the same noised image, carry on an experiment to the de-noising. Both theory analyzing and experiment result certify the Wavelet transformer move noise method is superior to the typical ones.Then, describes a new approach to IR image enhancement, which operates a gray-value transform in terms of bi-threshold segmentation. The pixels of an image will be segmented to three sections, named high section, middle section and low section. For the best result of vision, different transforms will be taken for different sections. The experimental result is given in detail.In a word, such schemes can achieve a considerable improvement in noise smoothing, details-preserving and the visual quality of infrared images.
