The essence of traditional DSS is to process data on the basis of databases and model system consisting all kinds of the generalized models that have been well joint with each other and to help to make decisions. In the middle of 90's, data warehouse and OLAP, data mining, new technologies for decision support, had led to a new research dimension for DSS.The comprehensive integrated DSS, which composed of data warehouse and OLAP data mining, model base and knowledge base system, is a more sophisticated form of DSS. The paper focuses mainly on developing the new generation of financial management DSS (FDSS) by applying these new technologies.In recent years; the financial management DSS has been attracting great attention in China. It's well known that financial management occupies a very important position in business management. Business decisions are highly related to fund flow. Therefore, the research on developing FDSS is very significant, which could improve the effects of making financial decisions for managers. With the applications of the research, there not only have a positive effect to ShanXi province salt industry company to improve decision support level, but also have a important significance and reference value to the research and applications of the domestic financial decision support system.Through referring ideas and aims of the FDSS, based on the procedure of financial management and decision, the system structures and divisions are discussed systematically, and the particular design of the financial analysis and decision support system are analyzed using the ShanXi province salt industry company as the background .The main researches are: Firstly, established the principles of the information resources planning, so that it can provide a good data environment to data warehouse. Secondly, studied and researched the logical models of the financial data warehouse, including designing relationship models and multidimensional data models to achieve the data foundation of decision support system.
