The research in this paper is supported by grants from The National Basic Research Program of China (No.2003CB314900) , New Century Excellent Talents at the University of China (NCET-05-0111) and the project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (No: 60576018) .The increasing demand for bandwidth of telecommunication has greatly promoted the development of optical fiber communications. One of the promising technologies is wavelength-division multiplex (WDM) that has been developed rapidly in the long haul communications. Wavelength-selective receiving has become the key technology of WDM applications.Developing RCE photodetector has reached parts of requirements of WDM applications: high response, nonpolarization, dense configuration. Now there are still some requisitions: good channal resolving power, tuneable character that have't been reached. So we should develop RCE photodetector's potential right along.The results of this thesis are listed below:1,Distributed Brag Reflector (DBR) is studied. Multy mirror cavity filter that composed of DBR has some usefull characters.2,For getting tuneable and low crosstalk characters, I advance a new parallel mirror cavity RCE photodetector. This structure is tunable and its response has flat top and sharp decline edge.3,For getting high-speed response, I advance a new method to produce microstructure electrode that is used in high-speed photodetector. Anode aluminum oxidation (AAO) mask is used to generate finer pattern on chip that is better than optical print. I made porous AAO mask on silicon chips and striate AAO mask on GaAs chips in experiment.
