Design Planning For Complicated SOC Design: Analysis And Implementation

As the increasing of complexity in today's SOC design, it becomesmore and more important to have a good analysis on design planning fromthe beginning. This paper do has a discussion on design planning analysisand implementation through project details, which includes: analysis on diesize estimation and feasibility, IP integration and hard macro placementstrategies and optimization, power network synthesis and optimization,power, IR drop and EM analysis, flat design flow and optimization.This paper not only have a deep investigation on major points of designplanning but also some real obstacles we've encountered in the projecttogether with some best practices of tools.This paper would be a good reference to improve the efficiency andaccuracy to design planning.
