The information of road surface rut reflects road transect information and traffic safety. With development of the high-grade way, rut measure is very important to maintain and manage high-grade way, which is important task for constructing high-grade way and city main road. This task comes from data collection and management system for high-grade way which is researched by ITS of Wuhan University of Technology and Sinkiang Communications Office. For get efficient, accuracy and stable information of road surface rut, according to the analysis and survey of road surface rut collection system at home and abroad, establishing road surface rut automatic collection system based on ultrasonic sensor.According to analysis and study on concept of rut, this thesis has designed for system function and measure way on the rut automatic measure system. Then construct a suit of automatic collection system, which is made up of optoelectronics coder, counter card, multi-channel and high precision A/D collection card. This thesis has introduced each hardware theory in detail.This thesis has discussed the theory of measuring distance in ultrasonic, which include ultrasonic shaking transmit velocity, central frequency, angle of launch control, measure distance, dynamic measure and so on. According to character of wave shape output by circuit, this thesis has designed an efficient way to diminish noise that enables precision of the ultrasonic sensor to 0.2%.This thesis has analyzed mainly content and expected objective, then the system hardware has been designed, which include hardware composing, produce of the beam, power supply circuit, interface circuit and assembling equipments. Data collection system includes collecting initialization of hardware, A/D convert, data collection and so on. The information transmitted on CAN field bus has been designed. According to the research on the CAN frame, this thesis has designed a communication protocol on application layer.Based on analysis of the system running environment and working process, this thesis has designed the construction of the system software. To the physics character of ultrasonic sensor, this thesis also gives a way to calibrate rut measure and some key codes of correction program. To rut database, the design of conception construction, logical construction and physical construction have been gave. The rut data management system realized management function which include insert, delete and so on.According to the research, this thesis realizes high-grade way rut automatic measure system at low cost, which is high speed, automatic and nondestructive measure, and it will provide a lot of useful and reference data of rut.
