As a weak group of our society, the rural migrants catch universal attentions of many news media. In the sphere of learning, few of the researches about the rural migrants' reports were performed from the view of journalistic. These researches existed in some news and broadcasting academic periodicals. No monograph has been found of this field. Many researches have not been able to study the related problems of the media's reports of the rural migrants.This thesis unifies the methods of content analysis and quantitative analysis with the Frame Theory to analyze the related rural migrants' reports of People's Daily, Chinese Youth Daily, Agrarian Daily and West China Metropolis Newspaper from the year 2003 to 2006. The purpose of the research is to find out how the media report the news about the rural migrants and how the media mold the images of them.Meanwhile, by discussing the subject frame, the image frame and some special reports, this article finds out the rural migrants' characters in the media and the problems existed in it: The media's mechanical impression to the rural migrants, the lack of the rural migrants' individual image, the lack of the rural migrants' positive images as well as the lack of the rural migrants' initiative role. Finally, from the view of the media and government's relations, the media's interior factor, the reporter's aspect and the individual cognition factor, this thesis thinks deeply about the phenomenon.
