Network Management Of Wireless Embedded Product Based On SNMP

With the coming of the late PC era, the development of the digital network,wireless network is closely bound up with the embedded system. In people's dailywork and life, the various embedded devices can be found everywhere, such asinformation wiring, communication products, PDA and so on. The interconnection ofthe wireless embedded network products is imperative under the situation, to meetthe requirement of ambulant work.The management of the traditional network is tamally complicated, but now thewireless embedded network management meets a new challenge in the networkmanagement fields which already have owned the huge tasks for the managementtask, since the interconnect of various wireless embedded products becomes popular.A robust network management agent is absolutely necessary for the networkconstruction and maintenance, to insure the reliability, real time and security of thenetwork transmission and the network management system must provide effectivesurveillance, explanation and control on the multifarious network devices and therelated software resource.Following the development of network management, SNMP still is one of thecore techniques, with the advantages such as functions are simple, the protocol iseasy to be expanded, the network management construction is independent, andR&D cost is not expensive.In this thesis, in allusion to the trend of the network development, the networkmanagement model of embedded devices is greatly discussed; besides, SNMPprotocol, the architecture of embedded system, wireless network and SNMP'sapplication in wireless embedded network management is mainly introduced;moreover, the implementary technology of the wireless embedded networkmanagement agent is discussed in details. At last, aimed at the specific wirelessnetwork device, the optimized realization of SNMP, more than one networkmanagement tools are supported and the use situation of currently popular networkmanagement tool, is supplied. This agent is used to support the specific wirelessembedded network product on Linux 2.4 platform, with the following characterssuch as, customization, robust function, easy use, simple expander.
