The work of the program on immunization for child is very fussy, needs spend a great mount of manpower, and it is difficult to analyze and collect information for it. Now these problems are being solved at many organizations in our country by building information systems. At present, the single-user software is mainly used in organizations engaging in the child program on immunization for the reasons such as money or computer network etc. However, the functions of these types of software are not perfect. For example, the data distributed in different places can not be shared between these types of software, which makes the inoculation for other place's child impossible to be done.Although the single-user software will exist in short future for some condition limits, the trend of network and sharing will not been changed. So, it is needed for the software which can be used not only as the single-user software but also as the client software in network. After comparing and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages for B/S (Browser/Server) mode and C/S (Client/Server) mode, a novel hybrid C/S and B/S mode is applied in the development of the information system of the child program on immunization. The system does good trade-off on economy, performance and security due to taking full advantage of the virtues of C/S mode and B/S mode.This thesis firstly analyzes the work flow of the program on immunization for child and gets the function model of system. Then, use case model of system is completed by using UML (Unified Modeling Language). The concept database is designed, and the design of the logical database is completed according to the real requirements. Finally, on the basis of the analysis and design above, the client-end software based on C/S mode is implemented by using PowerBuilder, the server-end software based on C/S mode by using Java, and the software based on B/S mode by using J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition). Currently, the management information system for child program on immunization has been deployed in many places, and good economic benefit and social benefit have been achieved.
