Mobile computing, Internet access and digital signal processing are the three major technology-driven sources of the post-PC era, and the reasons of supporting embedded market's rapid development in recent years. From the point of the core of technical to see, the CPU and operating system are the focuses of embedded technology's development at present. 8-bit MCU and the development of its backward exploiting ways will soon be replaced by the high-performance 32-bit embedded processor, the embedded operating system and the transforms of their thinking. So it is the general trend that opening the embedded system courses in the university, and for the courses whose practices and theories are equally important, teaching experiment is an indispensable link to understand and grasp the embedded system. In this background, researching and developing the teaching experiments' platform or device possesses has a very important and practical significance.According to the Embedded System's actuality and the teaching platform's actual needs, this design adopts S3C2410 processor of Samsung's. In this circuit board which is made as small as possible, it integrates many general-purpose equipment interfaces and it educes most of the CPU's signal pins which is convenient for students to make system expansion on this platform. This paper makes a research on S3C2410 processor from two sides of hardware and software. In the side of hardware, it introduces S3C2410 processor' s design thinking, it also designs the theory picture,routes PCB board and simulates high-speed signal integrality by Cadence PSD 15.1. In the side of software, it introduces the software's design and debugging in both Linux operation system and without embedded operation system. A portion of basis experiment instructor have been finished.This paper designs and completes an experimental development board based on S3C2410 processor.Through this platform we can make the basis experiments without the operating system as interrupt-service, clock control, communication interface, AD sampling, IO interface experiment and so on, and we can also carry out the Linux Embedded System transplantation experiments. At the same time, it also makes the expansion of related functions and carries out the necessary product design through the platform. On the one side this development boards ensures students to complete the study of the ARM technology exploitation, on the other side it considers the expansion of the system,the size of circuit boards,dispelling thermal,electromagnetic compatibility and installation issues etc. Therefore, this board can be used as embedded systems mainboard in application of the actual system directly.
