Wireless Sensor Network is usually supplied by battery - power and placed somewhere with no cadre, e.g. places that people cannot arrive at or areas that are dangerous. The communication ability of nodes is very limited. Therefore the sensor nodes must possess the self-organization ability to form a multi-hop wireless network for transmitting of monitoring data. The paper proposes a simple and easy-realized protocol for self-organization network. According to the self-organizing information in the data package, the sensor nodes can form multi-hop wireless network automatically within the communication distance. At the same time, the data transmission route is determined according to the principle of the prior energy.MSP430F149 MCU was selected as the processor and nRF905 single chip was chosen as the radio transceiver to develop sensor nodes. The software of the node was developed with C language to perform the communication among the nodes, based-node and PC, and to reduce the power consumption of node. The soft of PC was developed to monitor the whole wireless sensor network. It can display the topological structure of the whole network automatically, reflect the status variations of sensor nodes, and express the transmission route of the data package in real time, and control all sensor nodes.A wireless sensor network was constructed by some sensor nodes and a based node, and the experiments were conducted. The experimental results show that the self-organization protocol and sensor nodes are effective.
