High Luminance Backlight Design Based On LED

This paper is the research of high luminance LED backlight using for special display. First consulted a large number of literature and show the development and research significance for LED backlight technology; then the paper introduced the principle and the function of every discreteness of the backlight module. It also compared the spectrum and the color coordinates between LED and CCFL .The experiments showed the superiority of the LED backlight. Then provided a design, which employed high power white LED to achieve high luminance backlight and offered a primary solution to the issues of the high brightness, backlight uniformity as well as the heat dissipation for high power LED. The experimental measurement had proved that the design met the requirements. At last, the paper introduced how mix the red, green and blue light to white light in backlight, the color control and management system. In conclusion to the paper, it also gave a structure of RGB LED backlight system.
