Compared with normal 2D display system, the 3D display system can save and record three-dimensional object with depth information, whichis helpful for recognizing the shape and movement of the object. Traditional 3D display needs assistant devices(special glasses,Helmet, etc.), so it's very inconvenient. Autostereoscopic display technology can redisplay the lost depth information. Combining the technology of optics, electronics and computer, autostereoscopic display can present each viewer at least a pair of stereoscopic three-dimensional images. Autostereoscopic display helps achieve three-dimensional display without assistant devices, so it's more flexible and practical.FPGA-based hardware circuit design for autostereoscopic display is presented in this paper. This paper includes the concept of FPGA and SDRAM.The design method of hardware circuit for autostereoscopic display and internal logic structure of FPGA were introduced in detail. It also interprets how to use FPGA to implement Ping-pong control of SDRAM to write and read pixel data correctly. There are four three-dimension display formats that were introduced in detail in this paper. And how to implement each three-dimension display format in the hardware circuit design for autostereoscopic is also illuminated. The software of this design was written with VHDL,which could be used universally into defferent size(17 to 20 inch) of autostereoscopic display through proper change.
