With the rapid development of the telecommunications industry, the size of transmission network is expanding rapidly. domestic transmission network often consists of the early PDH and mature and advanced SDH, until now the most advanced technology of WDM /DWDM, it has established a large number of manufacturers and created the complicated situation of more transmission standard. There occurs lots of problems and issues which need to consider such as: how to effectivly integrate, full use of network resources and make it maximize its effectiveness, lower operating cost, and improving the quality of service and quality of service, network construction and network maintenance. Thus, the importance of optimizing the network is becoming increasingly prominent.In recently years, with the flourishing development of data operation and PHS's operation of ChangChun Telecommunication Company as well as the commercialization and steadily population of rising service such as NGN, especially the construction of the dependent-linking local offices intelligentization, the enlarging of each city's end office to dependent-linking office's trunk circuit and increase of circuit in the following cities: Nongan, ShuangYang, JiuTai, DeHui and YuShu-the five old offices. The transmission net bandwidth is becoming tight especially the local backbone bandwidth and the high occupancy of port, it is urgently need to provide safe and reliable channels with the trunk line transmission network. Until now, ChangChun local backbone transmission is only sufficient to provide ports for PDH SDH but not for demands from the Ethernet network interface and other types of ports even for the multi-operational development. Besides, part of the ChangChun local transmission SDH 10G 01 ring access is being occupied at a low ratio. Due to adjustment of operational network construction, upgrading of the network port's rate, constructing of local backbone transmission net and optimization current transmission net, the present study is presented based on the above background situation.The thesis consists of five chapters. In the chapter one, it explain briefly thedevelopment of digital fiber optics telecommunication, including definition and features of SDH and DWDM techniques, then propose the upgrading of local backbone transmission optimization based on the SDH and DWDM by comparing the two techniques. In the second chapter, the author introduce the situation of local backbone transmission network and analyze the currently situation of network construction and occupancy of ports, then find out the problems. The three and four chapters are the vital parts in the thesis. In the former, the thesis illustrated and analyzed the main technology problems in terms of constructing transmission network. It consists of the following two parts:1. SDHDue to the variety of types of SDH equipment and advantages of flexible management of circuit dispatching and network management capability, it enables us to have more choices in network construction. We have to consider it comprehensively and all-sides in constructing network and making good use of SDH in order to ensure the unity, wholeness and modernization of network's construction. Therefore, the present study also explained the application of spontaneous-recovery net of SDH in the transmission network besides the basic knowledge and application and usage of SDH functional scheme. It aims to figure out the application of both-way MSP ring in the local backbone transmission2. DWDMSince the bottleneck effect of the high-speech electronic circuit, photo conducting devices, and the transmission rate of the traditional SDH fiber optics telecommunication system can not exceed over 2.5Gb/s, as well as the transmission rate of simple-wave is almost up to its limit. The local backbone transmission network should aim to develop itself through applying advantages of DWDM system, such as super-large capability"transparent"transmission, constructing network with the features of high flexible, economical and reliable. Therefore, the present study introduce the basic knowledge and principles of DWDM, DWDM system constructing key techniques, DWDM system allocation and analysis of DWDM constructing network application, backup of network information channels, network interconnecting capability and net security program. Those will providethe sufficient base for the ChangChun local backbone transmission net MAN system.Finally, in the fourth chapter, it collect a large amount of demands information in the prosperous market of Changchun, as well as a large amount of data for a comprehensive analyses and predict. Incoporating with the development of local business networks and complying with the Changchun regional resourcesy and geographical distribution and cable routing, the study is trying to propose fou network optimization programs with consideration of two cases of emergency operations and all business requirements. Then make comparative study from the model, network structure, economy, reliability and scalability aspects of those four program, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of different technique, the ultimate netowork optimization, namely the new Metro DWDM and SDH ring network optimization, is figured out. the network optimization program is specifically set up like following : one wave subsystems of Pudong new-Shuangyang - Dehui - -Jiutai - Nong An-hub-one. Network capacity building is 32/40*2.5G; reconfigure Changchun 10G SDH transmission backbone of the local access part of the system, remove some channels, and add 2-terminal,6-terminal and 1-terminal STM-1 and ADM4/1 equipment in Pudong, Qingnian and Dehui Road, change part of 155Mb/s circuit terminal of the original system to 63*2Mb/s terminal.After implementing the network optimization program, it will enable the local backbone transmission network in Changchun to have the following network features of large capacity, high flexibility, high scalability, survivability, high maintainability. Changchun local business backbone transmission network will operate more services and the reliability of the network will be greatly enhanced. It will play a positive role in promoting the development of communications in Changchun area, so as to create more social and economic value.
