The paper researches and implements electric power distribution planning and assistant designing system based on GIS by using the platform of geography information system, advanced computer technology and theory of electric power distribution planning. Firstly, based on analysis about the preset problem existing in electric power distribution planning, the paper puts forward the idea that integrates database in order to increase its value by taking FME technology, and implements the relation of electric power distribution planning data and GIS data; According to the fact of electric power distribution planning, the article implements efficient management of electric power distribution planning data with flexible Data Model by using Autodesk Map; According to the characteristic including dynamic,multi-target,non-linear,dispersible,uncertainty of electric power distribution planning, my paper builds space load analysis model and electric power distribution planning optimal model, and completes assistant designing by GIS Road Search method. It is significant for electric power enterprise to integrate planning data and to realize electric power distribution planning and assistant designing.
