Considering the actual demand of power plant, this paper investigated a great deal of domestic and international documents, and deeply researched as well as the principle and critical technique of data warehouse, OLAP, data mining, repository, unit operation optimization and fault diagnosis, and Oracle data warehouse solutions. The data warehouse oriented to performance monitoring is established as a data source of Unit 1#320MW DCS data in Yingkou power plant. This system is designed to display intrinsic relationships and varying trends by way of multi-dimensional view, and to discovery important rules hidden in data on data mining algorithms. Meaningful knowledge is stored into system repository which selected from the results of analysis and mining after explanation and valuation. Eventually, the power plant performance monitoring system based on data warehouse is implemented on the J2EE platform. This system can provide important decision support for the safe operation and economical operation, and also help to win in intense competition for electric power enterprises.
