Being a new field of research, retrodirective antenna not only saves the cost of RF front-end system, but also simplifies the data processing. Because of the superiority in high gain and self-act trace wave-packet, it will be widely used in mobile communication. With the rapid development of mobile communication, the research of retrodirective antenna technique will present significant value both in theory and practice.The main work of this paper are as follows: with the electromagnetic simulation software, a microstrip patch antenna is analyzed and a dual-polarized rectangular microstrip patch antenna is designed as the array element; then analysis and design of the retrodirective antenna based on the phase conjugation technique are undertaken; and an important device of the retrodirective system circuit structure- power divider is studied.Firstly, the basic theory of rectangular microstrip patch antenna and polarized microstrip antenna is given, considering of antenna miniaturization requirement, a dual-polarized microstrip patch antenna is designed as antenna element. Secondly, the retrodirective array theory is presented, with the emphasis on the theory of Van Atta antenna array, and an existed retrodirective system circuit structure is tested, simulation results prove the validity of it. Furthermore, an important device of the retrodirective system circuit structure- power divider is analyzed, the simulation results are given accordingly. And Finally, the conclusions are obtained and the author points out the means to improve the performance and the feature work.
