WLAN have the merits of both flexible mobility and high speed and it has become one of the most promising technologies in the field of telecommunication. However, with the wider and wider application of WLAN, the research of its security has become a hot topic.Present, the flaws of these old security standard have been realized by more and more persons, and many new WLAN standards with high security have been present. The rise of the cost followed by the system upgrade has become the block of the WLAN technology development. In addition, there is a trend of integrating WLAN with 3G data networks and how to ensure its security is also very important.In this paper, we will mainly discuss the correlative security mechanisms used in WLAN. The main work we do here is as follows:Analyze the security features and requirements of WLAN and its development is also briefly introduced.After analvzing the security features and requirements of the WLAN, several protocols have been analyzed deeply, including IEEE 802.11i draft, and WAPI (WLAN Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure) which is the national standard for WLAN security.After analyzing the security mechanism used in 3G systems, a new looser authentication scheme for loosely coupled 3G-WLAN integrated networks has been presented. This scheme provides higher optional security to users and solves the bottleneck problems lying in the authenticating process.At last, a conception of WLAN integrated authentication platform has been presented. And follow, the design idea and the construction of the experiment environment would be given in detail.
