The main mission of the thesis is to implement a demo system for direct communication, multi-hop communication, and network access among mobile terminal (MT).This thesis is divided into five chapters as followings.Chapter 1 summaries the background of the thesis, also simply illustrates Ad Hoc network and the application of Bluetooth in Ad Hoc network. At the end of this chapter, the main research task and arrangement of chapters are introduced. In chapter 2, the overall scheme of Bluetooth Ad Hoc network is given. In chapter 3, the technical characters of Bluetooth, system components, protocol stacks and applications are discussed, and network formation techniques in Bluetooth ad hoc are analyzed, finally Bluetooth network encapsulation protocol (BNEP) used in Bluetooth ad hoc network are introduced.Based on the introduction of the system module of Bluetooth personal area network (PAN), implementation of the application module of PAN is presented. The implementation of software and hardware platform of Bluetooth ad hoc and embedded gateway access are also presented in chapter 5.Finally, in chapter 5, an application of Bluetooth ad hoc----wireless communication positioning system based on Bluetooth, GPRS and GSM is designed and realized. The application system of Bluetooth ad hoc network includes Bluetooth Tx/Rx module and the relative software. In this system, several equipments could realize direct communication and multi-hop communication. When one of them connects to the gateway, others could get access to the local area network and Internet through it. The wireless communication and positioning system based on Bluetooth, GPS, GSM implemented in this thesis has been used in the real applications.
