The research project of this thesis is one of the projects of the High Technology Research and Development Program and Technology Brainstorm Program of Jiangsu Province, which are named Research and Application on the Key Technologies of Mobile Ad Hoc Network (BG2003004) and Development of Access and Terminal Products Based on the Across-multi-network Technology (BE2004008) respectively. In this thesis, technologies of Ad Hoc networks and Bluetooth wireless personal area networks are discussed. The combination of network access points scenario with group Ad Hoc networks scenario defined by Bluetooth PAN Profile is studied in detail, and the experiment system of multi-hop Ad Hoc networks based on Bluetooth-WPAN is developed. According to the characteristics of the intelligent vehicle administration system, the application and exploration of multi-hop Ad Hoc network in this system is shown in this thesis.This thesis is divided into five chapters as follows.In chapter 1, the background of the research task and the architecture of this thesis are introduced.In chapter 2, firstly the definition, characteristics and applications of mobile Ad Hoc networks are introduced. Secondly the network architectures and advantages and disadvantages of different network structures are discussed. Finally some key technologies of Ad Hoc networks are briefly described.In chapter 3, some relative researches on Bluetooth Ad Hoc networks are introduced. At first, Bluetooth technologies including protocol stack, application profiles and network functions are described. Then studies on network formation of Bluetooth Ad Hoc networks are presented. At last Bluetooth network encapsulation protocol (BNEP) used in Bluetooth Ad Hoc networks is discussed in detail.In chapter 4, Bluetooth PAN profile and its structure are analyzed in the first place. The application scenarios are extended and combined, and the project schemes of the experiment system are designed. In the next place, the software and hardware design of the experiment system is expatiated on detailedly. In the last place, the testing results of the experiment system are shown.In chapter 5, the schemes of the whole vehicle administration system project and its function modules are presented at first. And then the application of multi-hop Ad Hoc networks in vehicle administration system is analyzed. Lastly the application scenario is shown in this thesis.
