Signal processing is becoming more and more important to modern radar system, and algorithm and hardware/software implementation platform of the signal processor are also kept improving continuously. In order to develop a signal process system for some fire control tracking radar, research work on this paper is focused on analyzing to some key technologies used in design and implementation of the signal process system. Hardware and software platform of a modular signal processor based on DSP is introduced. Algorithm flow and implementation of algorithms related to pulse compression, MTD and constant false alarm of some radar signal processor are discussed; and design process of a global controller and a high-speed operational board is illustrated. In the design of the global controller, combining of high-speed feature of FPGA and flexibility of DSP software, CAN bus communication based on TMS320VC33 is implemented through interface extension. In the design of the operational board, a general-used high-speed operational module based on TMS320VC33 is developed according to system algorithm and real-time requirement.Simulation result and environment test show that all specifications of the radar signal processor can meet requirements of the system , the signal processor has been successfully used in some fire control radar due to its stable and perfect performance.
