With the development of computer technology and computer graphics, the research on medical image visualization technology has a big improvement. Meanwhile, the development of medical image visualization meets the requirement of the detail information about focus.Medical image visualization is defined as using the image sets of some biology or body to generate original structure and show them out roundly or detailed. There are tow different approaches of 3D visualization, including Surface Rendering algorithm and Volume Rendering algorithm. This paper mainly describes the optical model, classical algorithm, basic principle and flow, key technique. It also discusses the optical module and the future. An improved fast and direct volume rendering algorithm utilizing the least redundancy strategy is proposed in this paper. The new algorithm, Visualization with the Least Redundancy, is proposed with earnestly foundation of thorough research on the sampling and image reconstruction technologies. Considering convolve can be concluded from several inputs to one output, we are allowed to dispose the interested voxel as well as those affecting them, evidently reducing the redundancy. Meanwhile, the footprint with integer in this paper uses less time than with float. In the new algorithm, buffers are utilized availability to avoid dispose a voxel repeatedly, saving memory and time. In addition, utilizing the space relativity of the volume sufficiently, we inosculate both the image order algorithms and object order algorithms in the visualization. The experiment results show the efficiency and good performance of the proposed algorithm in medical image visualization, with less time and hardly impact to the quality of the image.
