Research Of Automatic Test System For Reverberation Chamber Calibration

With people's growing interest in electromagnetic compatibility performance of electric and electronic devices, reverberation chamber, as one of the electromagnetic compatibility test sites, has been more and more focused on because of its great advantages. The calibration of reverberation chamber is a very important work, but it takes much more time to finish it, because the calibration process includes many test frequencies and stirrers or tuners steps.This paper introduced the background and development of reverberation chamber, analyzed the work principles, and expatiated on the calibration method and procedure of reverberation chamber which according to IEC 61000-4-21 standard, and also introduced the procedure of radiated electromagnetic field immunity test and radiated emission test in reverberation chamber.In terms of the character of reverberation chamber calibration, combined the development direction of automatic test system and demands of electromagnetic compatibility test software, the automatic test system for reverberation chamber calibration was developed. The functions of this automatic test system are as follows:1. Realized the universal design concept in the software, provided a standard and universal instrument driver for measurement module with DDLs, which can be adapted to different types and manufacturers of instruments, made the automatic test system easy to popularize and use.2. Parameter libraries were designed in this software. Users can create their own instrument library, sensor library and standard library by themselves under the library control module. The users just need to choose corresponding parameters directly in the library according to the measurement environment, thus make it easier to use.3. The software can save calibration time by using reasonable calibration process and control method.Through on-site test in reverberation chamber of Tsinghua University, the universal and effective character of this automatic test system was verified by comparing the test results with the previous test results, the related principle and standard of reverberation chamber were also verified by analyzing the test results.
