Through several years'development, PHS has been occupied some proportions in market share because of its cheap fees. On the other hand, nowadays the development of 3G has been accelerated. TD-SCDMA, one of the 3G mainstream standard, is strongly supported by China because of it belongs to own patent. After TD-SCDMA is authorized in china, the two systems will be co-existent in some period of time. This paper studied the problem of co-existence between the two systems and analyzed the mutual interferences. As a result, the value of spatial distance that can restrain the interferences when the two systems are co-existent is figured out. The result has much more significance for TD-SCDMA network planning and optimizing in future.In the paper, the electric wave propagation model is introduced. According to the propagation character and electric wave of wireless channel, it's the most important basement of wireless network planning and optimizing. Then the mutual interference fundamentally that probably exist between PHS and TD-SCDMA system are focused on. The interference mode of mutual system interference and minimum coupling loss analysis are emphasized on. Furthermore, research tool of system simulation in the base of fundamental analysis has been introduced.Through mutual interference simulation, a new system simulation model is proposed. The simulation data show that when a series of separation ways are adopted, the TD-SCDMA network performances are seldom degraded by PHS system. In addition, the outdoor testing and the indoor co-distributing system of the two systems are discussed, and some solutions are brought forward to solve the mutual interferences of outdoor and indoor co-distributing system. At last, through totally mutual interference simulation data analysis, effectiveness of isolation in theory and the degree that PHS system affects interference of TD-SCDMA system are confirmed.
