The Design And Realization Of Remote Monitoring Platform For Portable Positioning System Based On MapX

Nowadays, the GPS technology has been successfully applied to the fields of vehicle and maritime transportation, even shows a tendency to infiltrate personal locator service system. Therefore, it is urgent to investigate and develop a personal portable positioning system with China's own intellectual property.The work is supported by the Key Technologies R&D Programme of China "The Navigation and Monitor System For Individual Based on FPGA" (Item Number: 2005BA102C) and the Key Technologies R&D Programme of Hubei "The Small Intelligent Navigation System Based on FPGA" (Item Number: 2006AA101C34).The entire portable personal positioning system is mainly composed of two parts: the receiving terminal and monitoring center. And this paper will focus on the design and implementation of the monitoring center.This paper not only introduces the principle of the monitoring center, but also spends much time on programming, debugging and optimization. Meanwhile, it, in view of the portable features, achieves to miniaturize the program, extend the function and simplify the operation. Overall, the design and implementation of the monitoring center include three core contents.Firstly, this paper realizes the basic functions of monitoring center. The monitoring center uses AT commands and MSComm component to receive and parse the GPS data, then realizes the function of real-time display and positioning for the target with GIS and MapX component technology.Secondly, based on the analyses of the problems caused by applying the three classical compressing algorithms to the digital map, a new vector data compressing algorithm is put forward, whereafter, the reliability of this algorithm is tested.And finally, because of maneuverability and popularity's disadvantage in RDBMS at present, the monitoring center realizes an efficient data transfer between Excel and SQL Server.
