Enterprise information portal (EIP) is a application that help companies unlock internally and externally stored information, and provide a single gateway for users to personalize information which is necessary to make informed business decisions. It's a mechanise for people to interact with information and processes within the enterprise. In a word, the purpose of EIP is to deliver the right information to the right person.Port is the center of logistics chain, many big port enterprise's informatization is in processing now. Qinhuangdao port is a large logistics port. Its informatization is performed earlier than other ports, but several problems such as unstructured information's badly expansion and isolated information islands will surely be a big obstacle for enterprise's development.The purpose of this paper is to promote a proper EIP model for port enterprise after the research of EIP and the port's character. This paper mainly discusses the EIP from the following points:1. Firstly we discuss the research background of the theme and the development state in civil and world wide. The paper analyses the necessity and important meaning for enterprise.2. Introduced the J2EE structure and technology system, and mainly discuss the security of J2EE.3. The paper discusses the basic theory of EIP, which composes of EIP's strusture and Portlet's technology criterion. This theory can be the foundation of the practice of EIP.4. After comparing the business software and open-source software, we choose the Jetspeed as the framework finally. And truely design a EIP model5. Finally we promote the prospect of EIP based the whole paper.
