Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) set sound, light, electricity, computer a integration and synthesized the advanced theory and the application technology in the technical domain. AGV is one kind of transportation tool which is suit to working in the complex environment, and it is of highly automatic programming, organizing and adapting ability. The core of the AGV research is navigation and location technology which also is the key to realize intellectualization and complete independence of AGV. AGV can effectively carry on the independent movement until accurately knew its own position and the position of obstacle in the working space. We studied and developed the laser scanning location sensor system based on the autonomous navigation function for industry of AGV in the paper. The main results as follows:At first, we introduced the measuring theory and structure about laser location system, presented the core of location research and designed the mechanical structure , the light direction structure, location arithmetic, hardware circuits, control circuits of interface and software program.Then we mainly researched the stability of the sensor. We introduced particularly a series of methods for improving reliability, disturbance resistance, scanning scope and location precision, such as: using modulate laser, designing band pass filter, zooming out signals and using a special circuit to get rid of disturbances. After that, the methods of hardware and software design of the system are given.Finally, many experiments about disturbance resistance, scanning scope and location precision have been done. Finally experience of the software and hard ware design is summarized.
