The technique of Shunt Active Power Filter (PAPF) is an important method that can be used to realize reactive power compensation and harmonic suppression, so as to meliorate the quality of Power.Firstly, it introduces the causation of harmonic, as well as the contamination and harm by harmonic. It discusses harmonic restrain technology and harmonic restrain method, it studies the compensate strategy of load harmonic detection which is based on instantaneous reactive power theory. The Shunt Active Power Filter experimentation system is based on DSP, which includes the design of converter, capacitance, inductance, measure circuit, and the using of IPM that makes design easily .The result of the experiment system proves that using DSP chip as control core is correct. According to the analyses by instantaneous reactive theory, the result establishes the foundation of practice and more research for Shunt Active Power Filter.
