A Design Of Color PDP Display Control Circuit

PDP (Plasma Display Panel) is one of the latest flat panel display devices under rapid developmentandapplication,whichispraisedforlargescreensize,wideviewingangle,thinness,highcontrast, inherentdigitaldisplaymethod, etc. Itisverysuitable forhigh resolution digitalTVandpublic displayapplication.The work of this paper acquires the support of National 863 Project"High-Voltage driver module", whichprovidessufficientworkconditionsforthestudyanddesignofPDPdrivingsystem.ColorPDPdisplaycontrolcircuit isone of PDPdriving system's keycircuits, which generatescontrolsignals for high-voltage circuits and processes image signals. For the application of PDP drive ICs, it isinvestigatedinthispaperthathowColorPDPdisplaycontrolcircuitisdesignedandrealized.Firstly the PDP development history and its beautiful future are introduced. And then it is introducedthat the purpose of this work and the brief operation principle of Color PDP. Secondly the structure ofexperimentalPDPdriving circuitsystem isintroduced.And itisproposed thefunction and designofeverycircuitasapartofexperimental PDPdrivingcircuitsystem.ThestructureanddevelopingtendencyofPDPdriverICsare alsointroduced.In the basis of introduction toexperimental drivingsystem, thehardware of the displaycontrol circuitis introduced in details, and printed circuit board is designed and manufactured. The logic function isrealized by FPGA.According to requirements of the design, its FPGA logic is divided into severalsub-logicswhicharedesignedand simulated.Thentheselogicsaredownloadedtogether.While debugging,it is introduced the chromatic chessboard logic and the configuration of a kind of flash memory. Theanalysisofdynamicimageeffectisalsoproposed.The work of the paper is applied in experimental PDP driving circuit system, and dynamic imagedisplayisrealizedsuccessfully,whilethecircuitworkssteadily. Itmeans asatisfying testplatformforPDPdriveICsis acquired,whichisalsothebasis ofthefollowingPDPdrivingcircuitresearch.
