The Research And Implementation Of The Intelligent Public Telephone System Based On The Idea Of Softswitch

With the spring up of the Internet and the rapid development of the data network following by, the traditional circuit-switched telecommunication network has exposed its inherent limitations. It couldn't adapt to the new situations day by day and starves for innovation. As the landmark of the history of telecommunication——NGN, which used to transform the traditional circuit-switched telecommunication to the packet delivery network, will carry most of the operation in the PSTN. By introducing the IP network, it has added many new services and will also enhanced the old services. Moreover with the development of its core technology, namely Softswitch, it made the convergence of the voice, video and data being possible.In china, along with the saturation of the fixed phone market, the potential of the telephone market for public is taking more and more attention from telecommunication manufacturers and carriers. However, how can utilize the existing public telephone resources and provide some new services appended are a challenge to most of above companies. In this paper, we propose a new Intelligent Public Telephone System Based on the Idea of Softswitch, which will give a creation answer of the problem above and will give some useful advice for the successors.II THE DESCRIPTION OF THE SYSTEMThe Intelligent Telephony Platform (ITP) based on Softswitch technology and introduces the design principle and architecture of the Softswitch. The idea of functional decomposition in Softswitch technology is also referenced in the design of ITP.
