Research On Distributed Workflow Engine Based On J2EE

The workflow engine is the technology core of workflow management. The business management system which adopts workflow engine as the supporting platform has the high flexibility. It can build the application software system flexibly according to the special requirement and satisfy customers' demands rapidly by reorganization when the business process is changed.This paper includes the four respects below:1. By studying the workflow model and relative theories, this paper proposes several workflow running models like sequence, split, synchronization, choice, merge, cycle and four active trigger mechanisms including manual trigger, automatic trigger, massage trigger, time trigger.2. By studying the relative workflow theories, this paper proposes entity relationship model, control structure and application frame of the workflow engine, and realizes some components.3. By studying the workflow execution process, this paper proposes the state conversion rules of flow, activity, work item of the workflow engine.4. This paper deeply studies some main problems including realization pattern, database persistence, data search, exception handle and system interface, and proposes the optimal scheme.The workflow engine system is totally based on J2EE and multi-layer distributed architecture and it can run fluently on different OS and can cooperate easily with different business system. The system has been successfully used in 'Shaanxi Electric Power Customer Service System'. It proves that the system can accelerate the development, improve the flexibility, enhance the function and lower the cost of the business system obviously.
