Study The Method Of User Model Reuse In Cross-System Personalization Service

Today, the"information island"state of personalization system on the Internet has restricted the function which it should has. Cross-system personalization service can reuse personalization information across different system in a user-centric way, consequently the quality of personalization service can be improved. Now, every personalization service system has own user model, but the format of storing user model is different from each other. So, how to make different system understand the user model with the same meaning and how to gather and disport the user model are urgent affairs on a condition of enhancing the compatibility for personalization service system.The method of user model reuse under the cross-system personalization environment is studied at length in this paper. Firstly, a Web Service Based Framework of Cross-System Personalization Service is proposed. The function modules related user model reuse and system work procedures are mainly studied. The user model structures of different systems are gathered by registering user model structure in UDDI registry using the Web Service registry mechanism. The user model structure mapping relations of different personalization service systems are erected by the registry mechanism, achieving different system understand the user model with the same meaning.Secondly, the process and related achieving theory of user model reuse are introduced in detail. The method of distilling and exchanging personalization information among different systems is mainly studied. The personalization information are gathered by the user model structure mapping relations and exchanged by SOAP Message based HTTP.Finally, the achieving details of registry user model structure and user model reuse are presented for the system of BookOnline. The implementing procedure of exchanging user personalization information between two differentsystems is mainly studied.
