Today with the level of automation that is being applied in manufacturing, people are dealing with higher and higher amounts of information. Historical engines produce an added source of information that should be distributed to users and software clients that are interested in this information. OPC historical data access server provides a kind of standard mechanism to complete this mission. This article begins with introducing OPC technique, the total structure and the process of realization are given out by analyzing OPC history data access specification deeply, then in detail describes the design of Jiaojia gold mine's mill control system and the OPC communication process between system's hard and software, finally introduces OPC HDA server's application in the system designing. In addition the article also introduces farther test to server's basic function by Advosol HDA client. Through the test we certificate that the server can complete to read and write smoothly.
