Firstly, the paper introduces modern database technologies and their applying in the fields of material and engineer, and specializes some selection principles and ways of engineering materials in common use, the theory of how to confirm the weighted values of assessment index by the AHP method and establish the model of evaluation by fuzzy evaluation method in engineering material selection is introduced at emphasis. This provides the technology sustaining and direction for establishing the database.From the corrosion, the commonly principles of corrosion, employing requirements and applying areas are described, so the theory foundation is provided for corrosion-resistant materials database. So based on database technology and designing method of modularization, using Delphi7.0 programming language as development tool, a database system is established.The system realizes inquiring of corrosion-resistant materials" information by material's title, medium or alloy's trademark. It becomes a dynamic system through maintenance module which can add, alter, delete data, and has the functions of printing also.In the process of material selection, The system realizes grades selection by the kinds of corrosives and their concentration, temperature and the grade of materials anti-corrosion, and select the rational material in the end. In the process of evaluation, the system confirms the weighted values by AHP or user-defined method, then analyzes factors of material selection through fuzzy evaluation quantitatively. With modern methods of materials selection, quantitative analysis and comprehensive judgments, it realizes reasonable intelligent materials selection, which can provides scientific evidence and technological guidance for corrosion-resistant material selection.
