Twenty One Century is called information time and computer is playing an important part in it. People use computer for their working, studying, entertainment and so on. Nevertheless, every computer player can't use his computer without any software, just like person can't leave the air. Software is crucial in our lives. Nowadays there are large amount of software with lots of kinds and different of purpose. But for several decades' development history, there are many legacy systems still in use even nowadays. These systems, developed many years ago, are usually large, unstructured and poorly understood. Software reengineering offers an exciting opportunity to resolve these problems, by offering an approach to migrate a legacy system to an evolvable system in a disciplined manner.Fund investment analysis reports system is an old financial system which has twenty years history. Its responsibility is to produce the investment analysis reports about fund for customers every season. Fund data collection system is a subsystem of it, and its responsibility is to enter the data about fund for the reports. Our job is to reengineer the fund data collection system.This document does research on the fund data collection system which was developed by VB language. According to the background and the requirements analysis of this system with theoretical acknowledge of the software reengineering, web application and rich internet application, we decide to reengineer the system by Flex and J2EE technology. After analysis for the fund data collection system, we design a new architecture and finally implement a new financial system instead the original one. The focus of this document is to introduce the issues we met in the process of software reengineering for the fund data collection system, and give the solutions for them. After comparison and analysis the differences and characters between the original system and the reengineered one, we find out that the new system gets better expansibility, maintainability, user experiences and so on. Finally, it concludes my personal experiences from the reengineer, and draws the wonderful future of the software.
