Along with the gradual consummation of securities field and the widespread promotion of the information digitalization, the securities software has been developed from text interface to graphical interface and from C/S architecture to B/S architecture. However, there is no practical reengineering process which can effectively utilize the resources of legacy systems and support the continual evolution of the securities software. At the same time, after being used for a long duration, the securities software faces many problems, such as poor performance and frequent user change requests, thus, needs software upgrade and reengineering. This thesis proposes a reference process model——EHP (Evolutional Hybrid Process) model for the reengineering of securities software. EHP model consists of nine steps which are"setting direction","first contacting","initial understanding","obtaining design model","confirming requirement of re-engineering","designing","coding","testing"and"delivery". Compared with the related works, the EHP model has many advantages, including supporting incremental reengineering, introducing software patterns, supporting continual evolution of securities software, and domain orientation, etc.The EHP model has been applied to a small securities software system. Compared with average performance, the model leads to shorter duration and lower defect density. After reengineering, the system becomes more evolutional. The practice results indicate that the EHP model is a feasible and effective reengineering model.
