Research On Application Of The Secure Transport SSL Protocol In Network Communication

The secure network communication system based on SSL protocol is believed to be capable of overcoming the disadvantages of insecurity of using TCP protocol to transport information, satisfying secure requirements of network communication, realizing three goals of information security: information secrecy, authentication and information integrity, having little change to normal system with convenience and flexibility.This thesis focuses on the design and realization of SSL protocol in network monitor and control communication between the server and the client in the wireless video supervising system, deeply analysises secure problems existing in network communication system and implements safe information transportation over unsafe channels. The thesis consists mainly the following works:1. There popular secure protocols—SSL prtocol, IPsec protocol and SET protocol are thoroughly studied and compared. By taking the security of the system into account and comparision, SSL protocol is chosen as the foundation to design and complete the system.2. In the realization of the system, OpenSSL command line tool is used to make root certificate CA, server certificate with the signature of CA, client certificate with the signature of CA and their private key files.3. The implementation of SSL communication module is achieved by providing API function for other applications. A SSL channel between the server and the client can be set up by calling the API provided to satisfy secure requirements of the system.
