As hi-tech has been fused into modern local wars and the military commodity consumption is increasing sharply, the dependence upon rear storage goes up accordingly. Therefore, Great need in developing high information technology for storage is put forward to improve the working condition of storage and to enhance the storage efficiency. First, the background, the significance of development for information management system of rear warehouse is introduced. The present research and application situation in this field in our army are narrated. Based on these, we study the coding model technology, storehouse choice decision-making and the storage layout technology. Then the coding model fitting our army's equipments is proposed and a scheme of the storage layout for our army equips is formulated and also the storehouse choice decision-making model is established, which lays the solid foundation for system development. After that, functions and performance of the system are analyzed with illustrations and the active charts of UML (Unification Modeling Language). According to these, the static and dynamic models are designed using Class Diagram,Sequence Diagram,State Diagram and Collaboration Diagram of UML, and a relative database system is designed as well. Finally, by absorbing the fruits of the research on the rear warehouse logistics and by employing advanced Microsoft .NET framework, we develop the system with B/S (Brower/Server) structure. This system was successfully applied in some weapon warehouses in East Guangdong Area of Guangzhou Military Region, which highly enhanced the working efficiency of storehouse and utility ratio of storing resources. The research and development of the system, although is an attempt, is bound to play an important role in promoting the building of the information technology on the rear warehouse logistics.
