E-Learning Based Directory Services Application And Research Of Identity Management Framework

The great project of the Nation's tenth Five-year-plan: Network education and its demonstration projects. In this project, from the aspect of information technology, seven key technologies required by the development of network education have been abstracted out. As the subproject of the whole one,"The Design and Integration of the Network Education System"has integrated all the seven technologies mentioned above, formed the intact work flow procedure of Network Education. The information of user's ID is widely applied all the subsystem of Network Education, Which should be effectively maintained. In this paper, directory services are used to describe resource information and announcement information, to realize the integration of seven key technologies, and a new Identity Management framework (EL-IDM) is proposed to satisfy the development of network education.The specific work includes: .1. According to the system integration requirements, meanwhile based on the comparisons among various software and hardware products, a software and hardware platform for system integration is adopted, which proves to be high stability and nice performance cost ratio.2. After a deep research on the directory service applications, Novell E-Directory has been accepted to structure the directory module of the integration support platform. The detail work composes of the directory tree object Schema, the design of the tree structure and second development based on JNDI, Jldap interfaces and the deployment of all the key technologies of the system integration. Directory services offer the uniform access interface, sharply reduce the complexity of the system integration and improve the scalability and performance of the whole system.3. The logical framework of EL-IDM, a new identity management system suitable for network education environment, has been designed out. The pertinent core technologies implementation is also analyzed. EL-IDM has implemented alliance, single point logon, user account supplement which embody all the characteristics of the new ID management system. EL-IDM is featured by centralization in domains and distribution among domains, whose logical structure helps to simplify implementation, quicken the deployment of applications and also the integration of the following systems.The final work includes the implementation of the directory service of network education integration and the logic framework of new identity management system for network education: EL-IDM.
