With the development of E-Learning, long-distance network education has developed rapidly and popularized. However, one of the limitations of long-distance education is that the experiments can not be performed effectively. It becomes a negative factor of teaching quality for long-distance education. So it is an important research subject to construct the web-based virtual laboratory. In the thesis, we studied many network Virtual Laboratory, and focused on their function and characteristic. Then, we designed a Virtual Laboratory Based on Virtual Prototype (VLBVP). The virtual experiment, which is named of complex linear direct current circuit, can be performed on the lab platform. The virtual laboratory has the characteristic of real time, non-custom-built, multimedia simulation and network based. We designed the Virtual Prototype (VP) of VLBVP'S workbench. The VP contains three parts: simulation calculation, intercommunion display, and operation control. In simulation calculation part, we applied graph theory to describing connection of component and node. We designed estimate arithmetic of shut loop with power, preferences arithmetic of simulation calculation. We designed and implemented the VLBVP. At the design phase, we have the design of use case diagram, class diagram and sequence diagram. At the implementing phase, we adopted the VC++, SQL Server 2000, ASP, and VRML technology. Thus, the usage or the visual lab platform is convenient; the function of it is powerful. In addition, we reviewed what we have done in the research, and discussed how to improve the VLBVP in the future.
