Because its compactness and excellent performance, microring resonator has become an important device unit in integrated optics. Due to its wavelength selectivity, it has attracted intensive attention to be used in filtering or wavelength selecting. Using the transfer matrix method, the output character of the M-Z interferometer with series-coupled microring array is analyzed in this thesis. The influence of the structure parameters of the microring array is discussed. It's demonstrated that the complicated phase output of the microring array is the main factor that determine the output of this kind of interferometer. The output character of the resonant cavity array strengthened M-Z interferometer is calculated and analyzed, and the factors affecting its output are discussed. Output expression of the series-coupled three resonators tuned filter is derived, and the factors affecting its output character are analyzed. The way to optimize this kind of filter is given. The work in this thesis may offer a basis of theoretical analysis for constructing a complicated optical structure using a microring array.
